Jeremy Wine Co. is owned by Jeremy & Choral Trettevik. Their best memories were times when they sat down with friends & family, with a table full of delicious food and even more delicious wine. Together they began to dream of one day sipping their own wine at a table full of friends, family & food. Through determination and naivete, they set out to achieve their dream. Their first harvest (of barely 5 tons) took place in some shared space inside another boutique producer. Today they harvest over 70 tons of grapes each year in their own boutique winery, and love to share the resulting wine in their tasting room.
Jeremy has worked in the wine business for over 20 years, and is well known in the area as being one of the most broadly talented “jack of all trades” in the industry. He began his path in the wine business in 1990 working for a very large Lodi producer in their cellar. After three years of pulling hoses and cleaning tanks, he moved on to a smaller, midsize producer. He worked first in the cellar, before his talent found him in the lab analyzing wine alongside the head winemaker. Four years later he was on the move again to a fast growing local winery as the director of marketing. After two years of traveling for his job, Jeremy decided to stay put by starting a small company etching wine bottles. His artistic talent spring boarded into an award winning graphic design studio which specialized in designing wine labels and marketing materials. Eleven years of designing wine labels, boxes and point of sale for numerous local wineries created in Jeremy a yearning for his own brand. Using all the knowledge he acquired in the previous 20 years - 2010 marked the year that he and Choral converted their downtown studio space into a tasting room.
After Choral met and married Jeremy, she realized it was inevitable that to love Jeremy meant to love wine as well. After 10 years of a rewarding teaching career, she left to help Jeremy first in his design studio and then to make wine with him. The learning curve was steep for her, but incredibly rewarding. Choral has shoveled literally tons of grapes, runs the tasting room, and keeps the books so they can keep buying barrels for their wine. Working with their beloved Ladybug, she also writes the monthly newsletter of Jeremy Wine Co. to keep everyone on top of what's going on in the tasting room.
During the days of owning a design studio, Jeremy always believed that every label should tell a story. This is the background of our large J/F Jeremy label. The fine embossed text on the label bottle represents:
"Jeremy spent 40,000 hours in the wine industry working for others before starting his own winery. 6,000 hours in sales & marketing; 12,000 hours in production and winemaking; 22,000 hours in branding and packaging design".
When you flip the label upside down, the J becomes an F and the subtle embossed Jeremy now reads Forty Thousand for the hours.
