This vintage of Chocolate port is blended from 8 varieties of grapes: Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Souzao, Bastardo (Trousseau), Tinta Cao, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah.
By itself the port exhibited loads of chocolate notes, these were just compounded after aging, yielding a slightly sweeter, yet very complex dessert wine. This is a significant wine, not to be confused with the average supermarket chocolate wine.
