2019 Dry Rosé

Syrah Estate Vineyard, Lodi

Vintage Notes:

Our Syrah vines yield just 2-3 tons per acre, so we set aside one section of the vineyard to focus solely on a purpose made Syrah Rosé.

Picking at a slightly lower brix (sugar level) than our red wines we destemmed the whole berries and pumped directly to our bladder press. Upon filling we rotated the press allowing only the free run juice to gently escape. After a short cold soak, we racked clean the juice and inoculated with yeast initiating a fermentation that lasted nearly a month at ~58º.  The resulting wine is dry, but yields supremely plush, juicy fruit on the palate. This will be a new tasting room favorite.

This lovely rosé opens with intense aromas of fresh strawberry, summer watermelon, zesty orange and white peach. Slightly silky on the palate, it’s like biting into a juicy harvest pear. The wine finishes bright with lively acidity with fresh fruit lingering on and on.

Tasting Notes:

The first Jeremy Wine Co. ESTATE wine, featuring our Syrah grapes grown at our vineyard in Acampo.
