2022 Budbreak Blend v6

The Vineyards:
Our Bordeaux inspired blend is one of our favorites to build in the cellar. Each of the component wines always seem to just merge into a better an more beautiful version of themselves. We’ve come to introduce this wine in celebration of “Budbreak”, this is the period in the vineyard when the dormant vines begin to come back to life. The small bumps on the vines swell before bursting open with leaves and new canes. This period signifies the beginning of spring and optimism for the coming harvest.

Our 6th vintage of the Budbreak Blend is here! This Bordeaux-styled blend is a tribute to a vineyard’s first buds breaking through each spring.
We specifically cultivate each blend based on how the reds are aging in barrel. It is exciting and a challenge at times, because each harvest brings unique variation to the cellar, meaning a vintage can be drastically different than its previous year.
After much blending, we decided on 58% Cabernet Sauvingnon, 14% Merlot, 14% Malbec, and 14% Cabernet Franc. All of these French grape varietals inspire us to spin our own take on the Bordeaux style of winemaking.
