2024 Albariño

2024 Albariño - Lodi

Vintage Notes:

Perfect, balanced ripening in the field and absolutely perfect fermentation kinetics yielded one of the most aromatically expressive Albariño's that we've ever made. It's a gorgeous expression of stone fruit, Meyer lemon and melon notes on the nose with just slight floral hints. I also love the smooth, opulent texture of the wine, yet finishing snappy and crispy clean on the palate. I can tell already, this is going to be a summer favorite for us (judging by how much our staff have already scooped up), and you guys as well. Take advantage of it while you can - 126 cases. We'll have it in both tasting rooms, chilled and ready to go!

The Vineyard:
Grown just around the corner from our Lockeford winery in the rolling Clements Hills, this vintage is a near perfect example of Albariño. Harvested early in September of 2024, this vineyard sits in a small basin between two hills protected from the elements and trending cooler than sites with full exposure.

Tasting Notes:

On the nose there's a complex mix of white nectarine and peach notes that lead into hints of citrus and melon. On the palate, it has an encompassing very pleasant mouthfeel that lingers just the right amount of time before evaporating to crisp, bright acidity.
